BLOOD WEDDING by Federico García Lorca

translated by Michael Dewell and Carmen Zapata

Choreography by Yaelisa

Original music by David McLean and Yaelisa

Inspired by a true story, Lorca's Blood Wedding is a tale of unrelenting passion. A young woman is set to marry a good, kind man. Yet her heart still yearns for another. Which is worse - to betray your heart or one who loves you? Lorca's poetry exposes the raw, visceral nature of desire.

Director

"Handsomely staged, poetically charged, and rises to the pulsating power of Lorca's verse”

—San Francisco Chronicle

“Odcikin expertly stages the tale... Placing the actors and the accompanying musician, David McLean, all on stage at once, Odcikin has achieved the sense that every movement and activity of those characters is at the mercy of many a watchful eye. In this town, no one’s life is hidden no matter how many shades are drawn.”
